Abrasive Grit No.

Grit No. refers to the size of abrasive particles, and its size is expressed by particle size number.
The national standard specifies two particle sizes of abrasive and micro-powder.
Particle size refers to the size of abrasive particles. The particle size is divided into abrasive particles and micro-powder. For large grain size cylindrical grinding wheel μ M abrasive, called abrasive particles. Grading is performed by screening method, and the particle size number is expressed by the number of holes per inch of the screen through which the abrasive particles pass. For example, 60 # abrasive particle means that its size can just pass the screen with 60 holes per inch of length. For particle size less than 40 μ M abrasive, called micro-powder.
binder
The function of the bond is to bond the abrasive to a grinding wheel with a certain strength and shape. The strength, impact resistance, heat resistance and corrosion resistance of the grinding wheel mainly depend on the performance of the bond.
Commonly used bonds include ceramic bond (V), resin bond (B), rubber bond (R) and metal bond (M).
Ceramic bond: it is the most widely used, applicable to the grinding wheel of cylindrical, internal, plane, centerless grinding and form grinding;
Resin bond: suitable for cutting and slotting thin grinding wheel and high-speed grinding wheel;
Rubber bond: suitable for centerless grinding guide wheel and polishing grinding wheel;
Metal bond: suitable for diamond grinding wheel, etc.
